PBL Community Dialogue Night - Reminder

Do you have questions about the changes in your student’s education and grading system and want additional information?  If so, please join us for our next Elmore-Morristown Unified Union Road to Proficiency Community Dialogue on Tuesday, February 20, from 6-7:30pm in the library at Peoples Academy.

Led by students and educators, the meeting covers grades K-12 and will begin with a brief introduction followed by small group sessions focused on:

  • Why Proficiency-Based Learning (PBL) and how does it motivate students?
  • What are learning scales and targets and how do I know how my student is doing?
  • What are the implications of PBL on student transcripts, scholarships and college applications?

Representatives from the University of Vermont and Northern Vermont University will be in attendance to answer questions regarding PBL and the college application process.

We have also planned two additional informal sessions for March 12 and March 28, 2018, from 3:15-4:15pm in the library at Peoples Academy.  Students, teachers and administrators will be available to answer questions and share their experiences regarding the transition to PBL.
