PAML Principal Announces Retirement

A Message from Superintendent Tracy Wrend

Karen Weeks will be retiring from her role as Principal at Peoples Academy Middle Level (PAML) at the end of the 2018-2019 school year.  She has served the students of our community for sixteen years, as a special educator, Director of Student Services and Principal, and her presence at the school and in the community will be greatly missed.  We thank Karen for her years of dedication and service and wish her the absolute best.

We are now preparing to make the very important decision of who will be the next principal at PAML.  The process is beginning now and will include the appointment of a committee to conduct the initial phases of the search process, facilitated by PA Principal Phil Grant.  The information from the search committee will direct additional exploration of candidates, and, ultimately, inform the decision of the board.

We want to provide parents and community members with an opportunity to share hopes and dreams for the next school leader.  We are hoping you will take a few moments to complete a brief survey  prior to March 6.  Your responses will help identify leadership qualities important to our school community and also assist in the development of interview questions for selected candidates.

The last question of the survey asks if you are interested in serving on the search committee.  We will select parent representatives to the search committee from those who express interest.

If you have questions, concerns or suggestions, feel free to reach out to me.   We will continue to provide updates throughout the hiring process, including additional ways for community involvement.

Best,
Tracy Wrend
Superintendent of Schools
