EMUU Board Selects Next Principal for PAML

The Elmore-Morristown Unified Union Board of School Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Young as the principal of Peoples Academy Middle Level, effective July 1, 2019.  Mr. Young was selected after an extensive screening process that included an interview with a screening committee comprised of members of the community and faculty of Peoples Academy Middle Level.  Mr. Young’s application was then recommended by the screening committee for further consideration and review by Superintendent Tracy Wrend and EMUU School Board members.

“I believe an educational leader creates a safe, positive, engaging and valuable school experience for all students,” said Matthew Young.  “I possess a true passion for creating a rich environment for students to learn, grow and gain the skills necessary to reach their next level of learning. I am delighted to use my enthusiasm and energy to lead the Peoples Academy Middle Level learning community into the future.”

Mr. Young currently serves as Principal at Doty Memorial School in Worcester, Vermont. Young is an accomplished leader with 15 years of combined teaching and administrative experience. Mr. Young earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physical Education and Health from Virginia Tech, and went on to receive his Certificate of Advanced Educational Studies in Educational Leadership from Stony Brook University.

The Elmore-Morristown Unified Union is enthused to have attracted such a skilled educational leader to Peoples Academy Middle Level.  We look forward to working with Mr. Young and welcome him to our community.
