A Letter from Principal, Kate Torrey

A Letter from Principal, Kate Torrey

Dear Parents and Guardians,

In these uncertain and challenging times, the entire MES family wants you to know that we care deeply about your children and all our Morrisville and Elmore families.  Our faculty and support staff have pulled together this morning to make immediate plans for your child’s at-home and on-line learning experience.  We are in the process of making copies of materials, gathering writing and art supplies, loading apps onto Ipads, and stuffing book bags. Be assured that we will have learning materials ready for your child by the end of this week or early next week, and we will be in touch to let you know the method of delivery.

Just to be clear about this week’s school activities, the following events have been canceled:

Family Breakfast

4th grade Band concert

Student-led Conferences

PUPS Meeting

Obviously, all other school activities are canceled until April 6th, the date Governor
Scott has indicated when school may be resumed.  We will keep you updated as information comes available.

We are also working on a plan to supply meals to our students, and we will let you know when that will start.

We are here for you. If you have questions or concerns for your children, please call the office at 888-3101, or email me directly at [email protected].  If your child needs emotional support or just a little encouragement to keep working on their reading and math, we will have people available to be in touch with you and your child.  And our dedicated teachers will be directly in touch with parents to let you know how they will communicate with you and your child. We will miss our students terribly during this time, and we know they will miss their teachers and friends.  Please stay safe, avoid play dates, and sleep-overs, wash your hands, and we will all get through this together.
