Building a Boomerang
This unit will last several weeks. Throughout the course we will mix hands-on practice with learning theory.
Students will learn:
* Why a boomerang (or airplane) flies.
* How to create an airfoil.
* Why a boomerang comes back.
* How to build a boomerang from different materials.
* How to throw a boomerang.
* How to adjust a bomerang's flying surfaces for better results.
* The safety rules for throwing boomerangs and how to apply them correctly.
We will start with making a card board boomerang.
Following this the students will build a simple plywood boomerang.
Having mastered the ply wood boomerang some students may graduate with
designing their own boomerang.
