UNBOUND COURSES Prepare delicious, affordable, and healthy dishes for yourself, family and friends! Learn about nutrition, how to cook, and how to shop for affordable ingredients. Students get hands-on cooking experience and participate in fun activities to learn about nutrition. Each week every student receives a bag of groceries containing the ingredients prepared to make the recipe at home, plus a cookbook. 2. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Be a lifesaver and become a nationally registered First Responder! Training includes emergency first aid, CPR, and other life-saving skills. These skills are essential for caring for family, friends, and community. Learn from a Morristown Rescue Squad professional. No previous experience necessary. 3. Golf: Basics to Building a Stronger Game Students improve various aspects of their golf game, including putting, chipping, sand and iron play, and tee shots. Learn golf etiquette and the rules of the game. Equipment is available to those who need it. Enjoy playing in a non-competitive and supportive environment. 4. Weight and Fitness Training Learn how to increase strength, endurance, and flexibility through use of appropriate and proper lifting techniques with a professional trainer and other students who want to shape-up. Blow off some steam, build up your strength, find new friends, and make a positive difference in your life that others will notice. Students may sign up for one or both the Monday and Thursday classes. Students improve their game, including groundstrokes, volleying, and serving as well as gaining knowledge in court etiquette and the rules of the game. Equipment is available to those who need it. Come enjoy the sport in a non-competitive, fun environment. 6.
Darkroom Photography: Storytelling with the Camera
CANCELED Learn to shoot with a 35mm camera and develop film and photos in the darkroom. Students choose elders, ask them about their past, and find out how their experiences compare to life today. This course ends with a public photo exhibition that shares these stories in pictures. 7. Junior Iron Chef Competition Prepare for the Vermont Jr. Iron Chef Competition held in the spring. Gain hands-on experience preparing and cooking nutritious foods that can help change the school lunch menu. Learn about fresh local foods, healthy eating choices, and the culinary arts. Field trips to local farms are included. Wield power tools! Make cool stuff! Construct sets, rig lights, and work on special projects, such as improving PA’s dungeon space. Students have the opportunity to learn set design, set construction, and lighting design as well as work on projects based on their areas of interest. 9. Acting for Actors Veterans and first-time actors have the chance to stretch their skills on stage. Exercises and activities help students to develop the technical tools of the actor including voice, movement, awareness, sensory memory, emotional recall, observation and response, imagination, and focus. Games, exercises, and activities build each of these skills as students delve into areas of particular interest. While the class is open to all students, those involved in the fall musical are expected to participate in addition to their regular rehearsals. 10. Honoring Myself CANCELED Students explore the most important healthy relationship they have, the one with themselves. Each week students look at the world around them and within to find their strengths and to silence self-doubt. Through art, music, and nature, students participate in adventures of the mind, spirit, and body. 11. Marching Band Drumline The Peoples Academy Marching Band is a growing activity in the community — its heartbeat is the drumline. Learn basic and advanced techniques, as well as ensemble playing, marching, and showmanship. The group learns marching cadences and percussion routine, marches in all parades involving the PA Marching Band, and 12.

Working as a team with teachers and farmers, students conduct research and create solutions to local and global environmental problems. Our future depends on it! BACK TO THE TOP Interested in joining students from around the world to end human 15. Altering Clothing Transform old clothing into hip new creations. Learn to sketch your own fashion ideas. Emphasis is on recycling old clothing and fabrics into new items by cutting, sewing, and adding trim and beadwork. No previous sewing experience necessary. 16. Craft a Character Students choose their favorite characters to craft by sculpting and painting a clay head, designing, sewing, and decorating clothes. If you answered yes to any of these questions, then check out Unbound Beekeeping. Learn about the fascinating honeybee, managing a beehive, using bee by-products to create fabric batiks, dipping and molding candles, and making lip balms. Of course, students get to eat some honey too! 24. TO THE TOP Make a claymation video! Learn how to use a video camera to shoot animation, one frame at a time. Students create clay figures and sets, write their own scripts, and produce a sound track. Each student takes home his/her own completed claymation video. The best work will be broadcast on Public Access Television. No experience necessary - all levels are welcome! 26. Access Adventure For any student interested in the excitement and exhilaration of outdoor adventure sports! Class includes hiking, mountain biking, and snowshoeing. Students build trail navigation skills and learn equipment maintenance. Saturdays include lunch for all students. CANCELED Gain true toughness through mental and emotional strength training and adventure-based activities. Anyone can use fists and weapons; a real guy uses his mind, heart, and inner strength to be tough in this world. Experimental Polaroid Photography, Framing and Exhibition CANCELED Polaroid Transfers combine photography and printing to create beautiful, one-of-a-kind works of art. The first class is devoted to shooting slide film with 35mm cameras around town. The second class includes lunch and focuses on developing students’ slides into beautiful and unique color images. The third includes dinner where students learn how to cut mats and create frames for their artwork. Together they plan for exhibiting their artwork in the community by designing invitations and posters for the big event. No previous art or photography experience necessary. 35.
Outdoor Adventure Workshop CANCELED Learn outdoor and teamwork skills from wilderness adventure experts. Participate in fun outdoor activities that you can use in your everyday life. Students will do teambuilding activities, take a ropes course using the climbing wall at Johnson State College, learn outdoor living skills, and practice wilderness leadership techniques. The SAT has its own rules and expectations, and thorough preparation with plenty of practice is the only way to show colleges one’s best.
