| PROGRAM
of STUDIES INDEX |
Dear
Students and Parents:
.
This
year's Program of Studies contains information, guides, and
resources to assist each student in making informed decisions
about his or her own best pathway to academic success. Here
are the steps we recommend:
.
- Include
your parents, teachers, and guidance counselors
in planning discussions..
- Review
this Program of Studies; read each section
fully, paying particular attention to the suggested courses
of study and various options for four-year plans.
- Develop
a 4-year academic plan using this guide in
consultation with guidance staff. This process begins at
the end of your 8th grade year. This helps students and
their families organize a learning plan for identifying
courses, sequences, and long-range options. Due to the
credit system being changed from a 5 credit course to a
1 credit course: credits needed to graduate will be 26.
- Challenge
yourself! We encourage you to take as challenging
an academic program as you can. We also urge you to enrich
yourself and strengthen our community through leadership
opportunities and volunteer activities, which abound here
at PA.
- Juniors
and seniors are encouraged to consult with
your guidance counselor for the requirements for attending
specific colleges, technical or vocational schools. Admission
requirements vary and do change.
- College
catalogues should be read early for exact requirements.
.
As
always, we in the guidance office are here to help you get
the most from your years at Peoples Academy. We are ready
to meet and plan with you at any time.
.
Sincerely,
.
