We
have lots of work to do in literacy! Learning
to read is a complex task. I work with teachers of students
in grades 5-12 to implement best practices in teaching
reading, writing, speaking, listening, viewing, and
visually representing. My goal is to find the
most effective resources and teaching practices to support
teachers' work in order to provide effective adolescent
literacy instruction for all of our students.
Teachers
in Morrisville are busy participating in many different
kinds of professional learning. We are working to make
sure that the literacy instruction we deliver meets
the needs of 21 st Century learners, is comprehensive,
well balanced, and provides the skills needed to be
life-long learners.
When I'm not in school, you can usually find me doing
something active like--x-country skiing, biking, or
walking. I also enjoy knitting, reading, cooking, and
spending time with my family.
