MULTIPLE PATHWAYS AT PEOPLES ACADEMY

Our Commitment: Peoples Academy seeks to personalize learning for all students. We are committed to providing multiple pathways for students to choose how to learn and meet requirements for high school graduation. As a result, students at Peoples Academy have a variety of choices and can pursue several pathways in the same semester.

Ways to meet graduation requirements:

.

Classroom-Based Courses

A comprehensive array of classroom options of teacher led instruction. Courses are designed to address Vermont's Framework of Standards and Learning Opportunities . Content areas are divided into the following departments: English, Social Studies, Science, Math, the Arts, Physical Education, Foreign Language and other electives.

Individualized Studies

An independent study designed by the student, linked to the Vermont Framework and based on their motivation and interests. Students can study academic disciplines or elective subjects during the school day or on their own time.

CAPSTONE PROJECT

COMMUNITY BASED LEARNING

An experiential, independent study designed by students in which the learning takes place in the community, such as at a business or organization.

Peoples Academy Advisory

This pathway provides students the opportunity to engage in mentored study supported by an internship experience at least two days per week. A teacher-advisor supports this all-inclusive program. Class size is limited to thirteen students.

PEOPLES ACADEMY CAREER ACADEMY OF THE ARTS

The PACAA offers students the opportunity to pursue an interest in one or more of the arts, whether it is theatre, music, dance, visual art, computer graphic design, etc., while still meeting the requirements for high school graduation.
