Military
Deployment: We
would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge
that many families in our district are directly
impacted by the recent deployment of Vermont
service men and women. If you or your family
are affected by this deployment and wish the
school to be aware of your situation or provide
additional support within the school for your
child, please let us know. You can contact Sara
Pennock, our School Counselor, anytime to share
concerns, questions or just make us aware of
anything your child might be dealing with during
this time. 888-3101
IF
WE CLOSE OR DELAY SCHOOL DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
,
the VT Association of School Broadcasters will
be notified for their announcements. This information
is distributed to TV and radio stations throughout
the state no later than 6:45 am. Locally families
can access radio stations WCVT - 101.7 FM( Waterbury
), WDEV - 96.1 FM or 550 AM ( Waterbury ), WLVB
- 93.9 FM (Morrisville) and WCAX TV (Channel
3) for announcements. For a delay, we will start
at 10:30 am and the buses will run two hours
late.
COLD
WEATHER NOTE
- We always have outside recess unless it is
raining, dangerously icy or the chill factor
is below zero. Please make sure your children
dress appropriately. If students want to slide
at school, we ask that they wear coat, gloves,
snow pants and boots.
PLEASE
UPDATE US! If
we should have to close school early, we will
follow the directions you have given us on where
to send your child. Please call or send a note
if you need to change the directions for unscheduled
early dismissal for your child/children. |
A
SAFETY REMINDER TO ELEMENTARY BUILDING PARENTS –
In order to avoid kids running in between cars and
to limit the confusion so children can get safely
into the building in the morning, we ask that children
are dropped off in the right lane of our circle on
the sidewalk side of the car. If you want to come
in with your child, please park in the parking areas
and not in the circle. In the afternoon, please pick
up your children promptly at 2:45 pm so the circle
is free for the busses at 2:50 pm. Thank you.
SCHOOL
MEALS
- We ask students to bring in meal payments on Mondays
in an envelope with a payment form included. Extra
forms are available from Joy Jensvold at the Graded
Building or from the Elementary office. Families are
reminded that applications for free or reduced
meals can be made at any time during the school
year. Please contact the school at 888-3101. Adults
are welcome to join students for lunch at a cost of
$4.35 or at breakfast for a cost of $2.85. Milks
are $.40 this year unless a meal is
purchased. If a child's account is low, a note is
sent home in the weekly folder so families will know.
Remember that we do ask you to credit your child's
account ahead each week or for longer periods, if
you wish.
LOST AND FOUND:
There are many “found” items in the bins at school.
Please have your child check for what he/she is missing.
Labels in your child's clothing and footwear help
us to connect the lost item to its owner. Thank you
NOTES
FOR SCHOOL OFFICE – Please write your child's
first and last name on any correspondence that comes
to school. Thank you.
