Literacy:

Spelling contracts are given out on Tuesday afternoons, one strategy each night, the three are due on Friday. Spelling test is on Friday.

We are reading Last Shot

Writing -   There will be another On Demand Writing Prompt in March. It will be a narrative piece.

Things to emphasize, stories have a beginning, middle and end and a problem that is to be solved main. A narrative begins with a hook, a sentence that makes you want to read it. The setting may be very simple or can be quite elaborate. Narratives tell stories and can take many forms. Trips, movies, great adventures are good things to think about to practice writing a narrative.

Students should read 20 minutes each day.

Great Solar System Rescue

With this cooperative learning program, students must find and rescue probes lost in the solar system. Role-playing scientific experts, students use geology, planetary science, chemistry, and other subjects to guide their search. Students discover that teamwork and collaboration, as well as science, are the keys to success.
