Chapter Seven: Fractions

Big Idea: Comparing fractions, identifying equivalent fractions, and ordering fractions

 

- Draw a rectangle, divide it into 10 parts. Shade six parts. What part of the rectangle is shaded? Is there another fraction we could use with an equivalent value?

- A dollar equals 100 cents. What fraction of a dollar is 50 cents?

- If one cup is 8 ounces, then how much is 4 ounces?

  • How did the Paleo-Indians reach Vermont?
  • What was life like for the Paleo-Indians?
  • How did the Archaic people adapt to the changing environment and climate?
  • What was life like for the Archaic people?

Homework Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday students need to do a spelling strategy on their contract, math practice page, practice math facts for 5 minutes, and read for 15 minutes
